#ThrowbackThursday: These not-so-popular celebrities turned restaurateurs!

With new faces and talent joining the Bollywood industry every day, a career in films is not always very long. Not only celebrities managed to entertain us on-screen, some also have delivered lip-smacking delicacies also!

Recently, popular actress Jacqueline Fernandez opened her restaurant ‘Pali Thai’ in Mumbai’s Bandra.

Venturing into businesses other than acting is not unheard of and restaurant business seems to be a favorite of our Indian celebs.

Here’s a look at some of the celebrities who have turned restaurateurs:

Suniel Shetty:

Suniel Shetty established his restaurant business a decade ago and his club H2O is widely recognized and praised by celebrities and common man alike. Their Long Island Iced Teas are extremely popular among others.

Besides, Shetty also owned Mischief Dining Bar, which is now closed. However, in place of Mischief, there is now a new restaurant — Little Italy, owned by the actor, which serves vegetarian dishes and caters to the Gujarati community.

Chunky Pandey:

Chunky Pandey owns a very famous restaurant called The Elbo Room in Mumbai’s Khar. The restaurant has a lavish spread of Oriental cuisine and amazing cocktails. Located in the heart of Mumbai, it has a great ambiance and vibe. The Elbo Room gives out a very British pub feel and has its share of fans in the city.

Currently, the restaurant is operating ten restaurants in six countries around the world.

Bobby Deol:

Located in Mumbai’s Andheri, the restaurant has its interiors in tune with its name. They serve authentic and delicious Indian and Chinese food.

Bobby also owns another place called Suhana, for exclusive Indian cuisine, and Zion for Chinese fare.

Dino Morea:

Crepe Station offers European delicacies and is one the fastest growing cafe chains in India.

Kickstarted by Dino Morea and his brother, Crepe Station Cafe has branches all across the country, which offers waffles, pancakes and more!

His retail line called Cool Mall Merchandise was launched by Mahendra Singh Dhoni.

Sarah Jane Dias:

Butterfly Bakery offers the most delicious and hard-to-resist cupcakes in Mumbai’s Khar West. Co-owned by former model and actor Sarah Jane Dias, Butterfly Bakery serves cupcakes that look like a magical retreat.

From fluffy frosty cupcake topped with a drizzle of chocolate chips, this place is a delight for all the sweet lovers!

Perizaad Zorabian:

Located in Mumbai’s Pali Hills, Gondola is a multi-cuisine restaurant and serves Indian and Chinese, amongst others. It has remained a prime eatery in the region for years now.
