CBBC and Family Channel commission Malory Towers

DHX Media and King Bert Productions announced that the new live-action series, Malory Towers, has been greenlit by CBBC, the BBC’s channel for children aged 6-12, and DHX Television’s Family Channel. Malory Towers is based on the iconic book series of the same name by Enid Blyton and follows 12-year-old Darrell Rivers as she leaves home for the first time to attend an all-girls’ boarding school. Chalkboard gets first kids’ commission from CBBC controller

  Chalkboard TV, the London-based independent production company, has announced a new commission from CBBC controller Cheryl Taylor for a new school-based drama entitled Logan High, due to TX in early 2018 on iplayer. The 60 x 10 minutes series will be executively produced by Mike Benson for Chalkboard with Paul O’Donohue as senior producer. Technicolor names Simba Toys as master toy licensee

Paris-based Technicolor has named Simba Toys as master toy licensee for its animated co-production The Deep.  The deal will see Simba Toys launch an initial range of figures, play sets and role-play toys and accessories. Targeting kids from ages six to nine, initial products will roll out in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, the UK and Nordic countries in Q3 2018. The line will later expand into additional categories including outdoor, die-cast and radio-controlled vehicles and wheeled toys.
