Brands spent 482 crores on athlete ambassadors finds ESP Sports Report 2019

ESP properties, the entertainment and sports division of GroupM, released its 2019 report on sports sponsorship in India. As per the report, overall sports sponsorship saw a growth of 12% in 2018 and sports advertising grew to Rs. 7762 crore. 2018 saw a 22% growth in Athlete Brand Endorsement Value, the report said. Indian cricket team captain Virat Kohli has expanded the product portfolio for his brand One8 and launched his fragrance collection. Virat Kohli had launched his athleisure brand One8 last year in collaboration with German sports lifestyle brand Puma.
