Lux Industries on the lookout for opportunities in production and marketing licensing for global brands for inorganic growth

West Bengal-based hosiery major Lux Industries is looking out for opportunities in production and marketing licensing for global brands for inorganic growth.

“The company is at an advanced stage of negotiation and looking at finalising licensing agreements with foreign brands very shortly,” Lux Industries senior vice president Saket Todi said.

Company senior vice president Udit Todi said nearly 65 per cent of exports are under the Lux brand while the remaining is job work for other brands like the UKs Byford and Polo of South Africa.

“We are looking at more export orders from brands. The integrated facilities at Dankuni will be leveraged to meet both domestic and export demand,” Todi added.

He said that the new plant at Dankuni helped the company in consolidating its disintregated operations in and around Kolkata and it helped to improve margin by 100 basis points.

The Rs 105 crore Dankuni facility went on stream last year and is among the 11 manufacturing units of the company that is into inner wear, T-shirts, joggers, women?s knitwear and winterwear (thermals).

Besides Dankuni, the other facilities are spread across Tirupur, Ludhiana, Ghaziabad and Roorkee.

Recently another hosiery company Dollar Industries had inked a partnership with Pepe Jeans for producing and marketing innerwear in India.
